Data Validation Specialist (SQL) (m/f/d)
Job Description
About the role
As a Data Validation Specialist (SQL), you make sure that complex data migrations are accurate, consistent, and audit-proof. You design and run the validation layer that checks millions of records before and after the migration so that our clients can rely on clean, trustworthy data.
You will work closely with our migration, analytics, and client teams to define validation rules, implement SQL checks, and proactively uncover data quality risks before they become production issues.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain SQL queries to validate data integrity between source and target systems (record counts, sums, referential integrity, business rules).
- Design and automate validation reports and reconciliation processes (for example, using views, stored procedures, scripts, or ETL tools).
- Identify data quality issues and define data cleansing rules together with business and migration teams.
- Analyze migration load results, investigate mismatches, and document root causes and fixes.
- Collaborate with project managers, data engineers, and external stakeholders to plan test cycles and sign-off criteria.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our data migration framework, templates, and checklists.
Your profile
- Strong proficiency in SQL and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, or similar).
- Experience with ETL processes, data migration, or data quality tools.
- Solid understanding of data modelling concepts (keys, constraints, joins, aggregations).
- Very analytical, detail-oriented way of working and a high sense of ownership for data quality.
- Experience working in project-based environments or with external clients is a plus.
- Fluent English and German, both spoken and written.
What we offer
- A role with high impact on critical client projects and clear responsibility for data quality.
- Close collaboration with an experienced migration and consulting team instead of working in a silo.
- Flexible working hours and the option to work remotely within Germany.
- Competitive salary in line with your experience, including room for growth.
- Modern tooling, direct communication, and short decision-making paths.
Location & employment type
- Location: Remote within Germany, with occasional on-site workshops as needed.
- Employment type: Full-time, permanent position.
Start date & application
- Preferred start date: 01 February 2026 (or by agreement).
- Application deadline: 31 January 2026.
Please send us your CV (and optionally a short project list) including your salary expectations and earliest possible start date.
We look forward to your application!
